HALL ASHTRAY MATCH HOLDER DUFF'S RESTAURANT WINCHESTER, VIRGINIA

$49.99

This is a rare Hall China match holder ashtray made for long gone Duff's Restaurant in Winchester, Virginia and is circa 1950s early 1960s.  It comes with the matchbook pictured made to advertise the restaurant and Kentucky Fried Chicken during a time when individual private restaurants sold KFC before they became a franchise onto themselves.  the information below is taken from the Duff's entry in the RWCN IDwiki:

"According to information found on a genealogy.com forum provided by Donna Duff Hauser, the daughter of owners Melvin and Evelyn Duff, Duff's was the first restaurant operated by the couple. Located in Winchester, VA, it was a predecessor of the well-known Duff's Rebel, also in Winchester, that had a Confederate theme."

It is 3 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" in diameter.  A deep glossy black it is trimmed in gold.  It says Duff's Winchester Virginia on both sides of the match holder.  It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.  With the exception of a few tiny tiny pinpoint spots the gold is completely intact.
