Welcome to Desiderata’s China Emporium! I hope you find my little shop to be full of just the kind of wares that make you smile and bring back a wonderful memory. As a passionate restaurant ware collector, I find that my collection is full of the “needful things” that Max Ehrmann’s poem, “Desiderata” describe. Sharing these beautiful wares with you for your collection or table is my goal!
These beautifully crafted wares represent the talent, work ethic and creativity of generations of potters, engravers, painters and paintresses, and other talented men and women who worked hard and in conditions unimaginable today to turn out these beautiful pieces. Whether they rode the rails in a railroad dining car, served up a blue plate special in a neighborhood diner or graced the table of a famous hotel, restaurant or fraternal club, these timeless pieces represent a lost art in the American landscape. I will stock my shop with Carr China, Buffalo, Shenango, Tepco, McNicol, Homer-Laughlin and the other vintage restaurant wares I frequently find for you – please check back often!
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about these pieces, are looking for others or are in the market to sell any Carr China! Just use the "Contact Us" link and I’ll respond to you as quickly as I can! If you are looking for something special, I am happy to look for you. You just never know where that magical plate, cup or platter might turn up!
