I want to say The Regency, but let's see if someone can back me up on that.

With the "crown", Crown Regency seems too easy. ?

I cannot help but think this plate has to do with entertainment or a club of some sort... are those "hats" on the left and right?

    Paul:

They are hats and I think they look like Matador Hats. You (plural) are all so much more experienced in studying these logos than I am. I wondered about a theater or perhaps even some type of ball because the way the curtains are hung and the fringed ties.

Thanks for the time you are putting into this plate.

I wish I could see this one a little closer because while it is not an exact match by any means, its close in some aspects.... I just cannot tell if there is a crown in there or not. But this is the one I was thinking of when I made my first post above:

    Thanks for the closer-up Paul!

I think that looks a bit "crownish" at the top and I do see a resemblance between the two logos though. Not saying it is it, but I do see great similarity.

Suzy, I think you're exactly right about it being a sample. I looked through the Jackson catlogs I have, and found a couple of plates shown as "R711-CG-309-CG + Crest". The markings on your plate seem to fall into step with the pattern numbering nomenclature; usually I can find something that will tell me that "R" maybe means "rimmed", "11" is size, and "309" is color, but I just can't find any other info to match it up. You see the "X" on a lot of samples from other manufacturers, and Jackson also had letters designating the price category for each decoration, and "X" was one of those, as well.

Is there ANY chance this is a newer service plate from the Riviera Hotel Casino in Las Vegas?

Jackie, I agree; I believe it's from the Regency in NYC also.

Once again Thank You, Thank You!

I have tried to search out all of your leads but cannot find a "smoking gun". Dennis is it possible that a sample does not get sold and does not go tp production?

If I can jump in, yes, sometimes samples don't meet the buyer's requirements. Sometimes a sample may be run and the colors don't match or the 'look' or 'feel' isn't right. I often wonder, when I find the sticker is still on the back and it's not a stock pattern seen elsewhere, if it wasn't a rejected sample.
