    Default Yesterday's Haul

Picked up some RW pieces yesterday. All of it came from one house. It was one of those great sales where you spend hours digging and digging. I was there yesterday morning from 6:45 to 9:30am. My car was loaded to the gills with bins and bins of old old miscellaneous stuff. Though not RW, I had to include the two clothes brushes in the back left of the first photo below. They looked like sterling so I scooped them up into one of my many piles of stuff. I pulled them out last night and took out my loupe -- Tiffany & Co. sterling -- dirt cheap. I wish there were more sales like that one! I even went back today and found more RW!!

Anyway, here's a few pieces (uncleaned):

    Default Nice Finds!

    Step,

    Nice finds!

Good RW gets harder to find all the time. The last good find I had was the Vinoy Park Hotel plate that I found about a month ago.

Good merchandise in general is getting harder to find, in my opinion.

Really nice finds, something to research! Not finding anything here recently but non-topmarked RW.

Thanks Jeff and Matt. You're so right, Jeff. Good RW is getting really hard to find. Wish it was ship or RR china, but it's nice just to come across some different things for a change.

The round bowl with the H&H crest is from the Hotel Loch Arbour in Allenhurst, NJ. It is first listed in my 1918 HRB. Larry Paul's Data Base has more information. Nice find!

Thanks Dick. I know Loch Arbour so well, it's just a few minutes from me. Spent every single day of my summer vacations at the Loch Arbour Beach as a kid. Lovely little town with some nice old elegant large homes.

Whew, as lovely as all of the RW is, those Tiffany brushes are an amazing find IMO. Why are they considered clothes brushes, I wonder? I would have thought hair brushes?

Great haul, all the way around!

I'd never heard of a clothes brush. I typed in 'Tiffany sterling brush' on eBay and saw the same as the ones I found and they seem to be described as clothes brushes. Some sellers list as hair or clothes brush. Is a clothes brush the same as a lint brush back in the day (before those sticky roll things we have now)?

Very nice!!! I have not had one of those hauls in years! I might find a piece here and there but not more than two or three pieces in a weekend...

Good questions Steph, ones I have no clue about. I wonder if it was more like a shoe brush than a clothes brush? I just keep thinking that those types of brushes would not do much for brushing clothes!

I always thought they were hair brushes... but then, I do not have a whole lote of knowledge about such things.

I think a hair brush has a handle and a clothing brush does not??? IDK????

Could be Paul. But it just does not seem like that would do very much for your clothes!

Shoe brush I could wrap my head around, but clothes brush? Not so much.
