    Default Wallace "Yellowstone" Plate

A unique 9.5" plate by Wallace China from 1951 designed for YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK; distributed by Dohrmann Hotel Supply.

I checked my copy of "Old Lodges and Hotels of our National Parks" by Bill McMillon and couldn't find anything there. Any ideas which establishment this might have come from??

    TIA............

These plates were distributed by the Hotel mentioned on the back in the 50's. They are exceptionally rare, in fact, I just sold one on ebay for $51 about 2 weeks ago. Shortly after it sold, another ebay member contacted me and mentioned that these plates surface about 4 times a year and sell between 130-160. Right now with the economy hurting, it isn't the best time to sell.

Gosh, might we have the buyer and seller both posting here?

Thanks for the warm welcome, I've never heard of the site until recently. Hopefully I will be able to identify some pieces I've be holding on to for a long time.

I know they are scarce wouldn't say "rare" as I have had 3 of them, one left. Yellowstone park memorablia is very sought after. They turn up on ebay etc. Still nice plates.

Thanks, Paul and Kathleen! I guess I'll have to see what happens when I list it on ebay.
